Independent Performance Fitness LLC
Helping clients to be vibrant at any age!
My goal as your personal trainer is to help you be “vibrant at any age!” I specialize in helping people like yourself, active age adults 40 and over all the way to 95, to stay vibrant and healthy.
Independent Performance Fitness clients receive a specifically customized program to meet their personal needs. IPF is geared toward adults who want to get fit and have some fun while doing it in a private pristine atmosphere. I offer one-on-one personal training or small group packages for groups of 2, 3 or 4 people.
The IPF facility is a place to get energized! My facility is small by design so that I can focus on your needs. It is small, sanitary, clean, quiet (no loud blaring music) and private. Oh…and no mirrors to flex in! A redesigned gym experience for the boomer crowd who wants to get healthy and get in shape!
I am an encourager. I always wanted to be that teacher and coach that got his students and athletes to their goals. It worked well for me in my educational career: teaching, coaching wrestling and administration. It worked well for me in my small business martial arts career back in Indiana…and it will work well for you here in Texas.
I will work closely with you week to week on your exercise program, your nutrition program, your muscle & strength building program, and finally your balance and mobility issues.
I want to see you achieve your new vibrant self, because remember…being fabulous is the best revenge!
The following video of Miracles Fitness, out of Lafayette, Indiana, shows Dr. Dan Ritchie and Dr. Cody Sipe; the two men that are my Mentors at FAI – Functional Aging Institute. This is why I believe in fitness for the over-40 active adult!
Independent Performance Fitness LLC opened in February 2017. Why me? Why IPF? After relocating to Brazoria County in late summer of 2014, since all three of our children decided to leave Indiana and relocate to Texas for jobs and careers, I joined a big box gym…and watched the young trainers give the mature clients – that had just joined the gym – their one complimentary training session! Wow, I thought they were trying to kill them! Sadly those trainers were not really there “to help” their clients.
Down through the years the Baby Boomer generation have changed this country for the better. As we age, we need to do it better than our parents and grand parents did it – aging that is! Our generation has NEVER followed the status quo!
I am a certified Functional Aging Specialist through the FAI (Functional Aging Institute) that is specifically trained to help people achieve the best possible health and quality of life through innovative and evidence-based functional fitness programs that are safe, effective, enjoyable and purposeful. I also have BS and MA degrees from Ball State University in Exercise Science.
FAI Core Principles
We believe:
I believe that our body is our temple, given to us by God, for us to use to help ourselves and others achieve great things.
I want to help you to live your Carpe Diem lifestyle. I will hold you accountable to both me and yourself. I have three favorite words or phrases that I have lived by for many years: 1) perseverance – I’ve always said that I was just too dumb to quit; 2) creativity – I like to think outside the box and take the road less traveled…do my own thing and not follow the crowd; and 3) hard work / work hard – the two dirtiest words in the American English language the past few decades.
